Everyone understands that a swimsuit, as an integral part of a woman’s wardrobe, requires special care. With proper care, your swimsuit will retain its original appearance longer and will delight you with its excellent shape and rich color.
If you neglect the care tips for a swimsuit, then even the most expensive and high-quality thing may turn into an unpleasant piece of beach wardrobe that you will never want to wear again.
Sand is in the swimsuit. Serious problem?
Sand, as beautiful as it’s, and as stunningly contrasting with the sky or ocean in your Instagram photos, has one very big drawback. Small grains of sand from 0.1 mm in size tend to clog into the fabric of your swimsuit.
This’s cos of the elastane, which is a fabric part of each swimsuit, which allows the product to maintain its original shape for a long time.
Elastane can be stretched 6 times without any problems, and as a result, sand is clogged into the formed space between the fibers. Therefore, when you sit down on the snow-white sand, be prepared for unpleasant consequences.
Depending on the exact composition of the fabric, some swimwear can be easily relieved of an unpleasant bonus after a vacation with the help of active shaking, for example, it’s almost impossible to get rid of sand for other models, except to remove every grain with a needle.
- Rinse
Yes, no matter how trite it is, you need to rinse your swimsuit under running water or swim in the sea under the clean waves. This will remove most of the adhering sand from your swimsuit.
- Dry
In fact, it’s much easier to shake out dry sand than wet sand, because the second one gets knotted into large lumps that don’t penetrate into the holes of the fabric.
Therefore, if you have a bathing suit with sand and cannot wear it anymore cos of sand, just change it and let the dirty bathing suit dry in the sun. This will take away excess moisture and the sand will easily fall out of the swimsuit, like fine dust particles.
- Shake out
You’ve already got, the third step is to thoroughly knock the dust out of the swimsuit fabric. It’s pretty simple: find a hard surface to hit your swimsuit against. Hit 3-4 times, and there will be no speck of sand inside.
- If there is still sand?
In this case, you can try to rip a small hole (2-3 cm) inside the pad along the waist elastic and pour all the remaining sand through it, and then sew the pad back.
Attention! We recommend doing this manipulation only to those who have at least an average sewing skill. Otherwise, you could ruin your swimsuit.
Bonus! How to wash a swimsuit? Some tips:
- NEVER cut off the manufacturer’s tags from the swimsuit, or at least keep the cut tags until the end of the product’s life;
- If the swimsuit has a non-removable decor, then such a model should be definitely washed by hand to avoid snags on the fabric;
If the leotard is allowed to be machine washed, then be sure to remove all decorative elements and place the model in a special bag, use only the delicate mode and the same detergents;
- It’s forbidden to wring out the swimwear in the washing machine, just squeeze out the remaining water slightly with your hands;
- It’s better to dry the swimsuit on a light cotton fabric or hangers. It’s better not to use clothespins – they will leave a mark on the swimsuit and can damage the fabric;
- You can dry the swimsuit only in the shade, avoid direct sunlight – the swimsuit can fade and lose its saturation.
Your swimsuit is your pride! Only with a properly selected swimsuit of decent quality, you will always be at your best.
